"The Scholars" band (Jamie Messenger - keyboard, Ben Burt - drums) are from Adelaide, Australia and have been described by Caroline Tran of Triple J Radio as 'keyboard driven bent rock'. The Scholars have been playing together for several years now and at present have 2 cds out - the Soma EP and the Nemesis EP. The Nemesis EP came after the Soma EP. The Soma EP by The Scholars is a collection of older songs which the core of the band, Jamie Messenger and Ben Burt, played under the different name of Messenger (instead of The Scholars).

The Scholars's 2nd EP is the Nemesis EP. It includes the track "Danny Don't Do It" which was recently played on Triple J's home and hosed program. The full track listing is as follws - Buying Drugs, Can't Stop The Scholars, Utopia, Danny Don't Do It, and Nemesis which is of course the title track of the Nemesis EP. The Scholars band have now moved to Melbourne. The Scholars band are working on a show with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra (ASO) called The Edge. Jamie Messenger is producing the show and Jamie Messenger is also writing the arrangements for the show. For The Edge, Jamie Messenger joining Ben Burt from The Scholars band, and will be performing as "The Scholars" with the ASO. Jamie Messenger from The Scholars Band and Ben Burt (also from The Scholars Band) are looking forward to playing the show.
